Lately I've been drawing inspiration from old 40's and 50's sewing patterns. I have been collecting patterns for a while now. The patterns themselves are great for making vintage inspired pieces but I also really love the fact that each package is a little piece of art to put on display. The illustration style is reminiscent of the war time pin up girls, but with a childish, innocent twist which I find much more appealing. I know I'm not alone in finding the colours, prints and lines of children's wear much more inspiring than those of traditional womenswear.

As a young(ish) person who's never lived in London or written a blog I've decided to kill two birds with one stone and find out what I've been missing. I'm actually not sure what this blog is going to be about. I'm aiming for a collection of beautiful things. A scrapbook I can keep without spilling my tea on. Will it just be a glorified journal? Will it be worth writing and reading? I don't know. It's an experiment. So come experiment with me...
